What a successful at the BMW Berlin Marathon for Rollerblade® and the Rollerblade® Speed Team.
The city welcomed us with the fair at the Flughafen airport where we spotted the Rollerblade® booth. It looked outstanding. Thousands upon thousands of people came to visit us at the booth and we had a nice time with the staff. On Friday, special guests Yann Guyader and Erika Zanetti had a skating session with a group of Instagram’s key influencers. Fashion, sports, and lifestyle Instagrammers were promoting inline skating outside the “classic” skating community. It was great!
On race day, more then 6000 skaters started the marathon and the whole Rollerblade® speed team had a great race. Everybody worked hard to try to grab the win for team captain Ewen Fernandez.
Ewen went on a breakaway with Bart Swings and Nolan Beddiaf and the pace was crazy. They arrived through the Brandeburger Tor with an incredible sprint to the finish line. The winner was Bart with the time of 57:58, followed by Ewen, and third place for Nolan.
Then in the last kilometers Mike Paez, Quentin Giraudeau, Doucelin Pedicone and Yann Guyader lead out for Guillome De Mallevoue to win the bunch sprint and get 4th.
In the ladies competition Erika Zanetti and Honorine Barreault finished in first group with the time of 1:09:20 .
Less then 24 hours after the race and now the team is heading to the beautiful city of Paris to race the Macif Paris Roller Marathon. The start and the finish were in front of the Tour Eiffel, something really unique for the world of the inline skating. 3000 participants, a pretty hard course and the Urban Sliding and Ecomobility Exhibition made the Paris marathon the event to be!
We are really proud of our team and the work they put into the race.
