Explain the feeling you had the first time you put on skates.

My first experience with skates was when I was 3 years old, so I don’t remember much besides the Christmas home video of me opening them. Besides that, I was 8 years old, so I still don’t remember much, but I do remember I wanted to be as cool as my older brother skating down the street with his friends which inspired me to skate in the first place.

What is your inspiration to keep skating?

Many things, but I guess mostly to push myself. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been skating for 29 years, I’m 37 years old now and I feel like I’m skating now better than ever. I feel like I still haven’t peeked.

We truly believe skating makes a better world. How do you think skating makes the world a better place?

Skating is such a positive sport/ hobby/ activity/ whatever you want to call it. Looking forward to waking up in the morning and knowing that you're going skating later that day and going to be spending the day with your friends having fun is so motivating and great for mental and physical health.

How do you keep progressing and reinventing yourself?

Trying new things always helps me. I feel like my skating changed the most in recent years when I tried “big wheels” and Wizard Skating. Having a different type of tool under my feet made me think about skating in a new light and completely changed the way I skated for the better.

What’s the most helpful tip you want to share with any skater?

Probably similar to my previous answer, try new things. So many skaters get bored or stuck in the same routine every time they go out, and while that can still be fun, it doesn’t expand you as a skater as much as traveling to a new place to skate, sessioning with different people, or trying a different skate setup.

Imagine a world filled with animals who can skate. If you could be any of those animals what would you be and why?

I love this question. I remember being asked a similar question as a kid and I said a Cheetah, so I’ll probably stick with that. Really fast and quick with either feet.
